School is a time of growth and challenge for every student; a journey not only of the intellect, but also of the spirit. Wesleyan Academy's rich and diverse Spiritual Life program is designed to provide opportunities for all students to find pathways to spiritual fulfillment. Our Spiritual Life Department seeks to provide a place of support as students face new ideas about the world around them and create a safe space for students to question and grow in matters of faith.

Spiritual Activities

There are a number of activities that take place throughout the school year. These include:

  • Class Retreats

  • Morning Devotions

  • School Without Walls (7th graders)

  • Weekly Chapel services

  • Staff Retreats

  • Spiritual Emphasis Weeks*

  • Special Activities

*Spiritual Emphasis Week is held twice each year, once a semester. Special chapel services are held each day during the week. Students may stay after chapel to pray or receive counseling. Special speakers, gifted at working with youth, minister to students during this week.

Spiritual Life Committee

The spiritual life of the school is evaluated and overseen by a Spiritual Life Committee consisting of various members of the school community: administrators, teachers, a parent, a student, a Bible department representative, and the Spiritual Life Coordinator.

Discipleship Groups

A special activity period is set aside once each cycle for special discipleship training.
